Preservation NOW
Help secure the future of this historical church

Since 1857 the church and the steeple soaring above the landscape has become the icon of the Berkshires of Massachusetts. This structure stands on the site of the original Town Meeting House in Lee in 1780, thus establshing Lee as a Town as required by Massachusetts colonial law.
The First Congregational Church of Lee has continued to serve as a town meeting house for Lee and the surrounding communities sharing a publc park with the neighborhood, hosting and participating in community events, supporting major and local charity programs.
The church is now embarking on a preservation project to begin July 2026 and is seeking donations for preventing further deterioration to areas of exposed bare wood. The total cost is $200,00 of which $80,000 has been received. This site is to give you an opportunity to learn about the project and if able, help secure the future with donations large, modest, or small!
We are inviting you to invest in the preservaton of
"The church with that tall steeple" that is seen and loved by those who exit I-90 or head into The Berkshires through Lee, Massachusetts from the Park Place Road or Stockbridge Road.
